Land Cruiser

1948

The Land Cruiser line was launched in 1948 by the Flxible bus company. The brainchild of Arthur Perkins, president of the Linn Coach and Truck Corporation, the first Land Cruisers were built from standard 29 passenger Clippers and were outfitted according to customer specifications. 1

Kirwan Elmers bought Land Crusier from the Flxible Bus Company. He called his company Custom Coach and has been building the finest conversion coaches ever since. In fact, Custom Coach actually created the bus conversion industry!

1965

My father bought a PD4106 from Custom Coach in the late 1970's. The bus was originally built for the Budweiser company.

Here is an example of a derelict Land Cruiser that was available for sale sometime ago. Even in this sadly dilapitated and neglected condition, the level of build quality is impressive.
